Working with the best

Long Deco works with training organisations, equipment manufacturers and dive centres that set the standards in technical, cave and exploration diving. Our partners include established training federations as well as brands and places that genuinely support the development of divers and instructors in demanding environments.

We work with organisations that define the approach to training, from global instructor standards to advanced technical diving systems. We also use equipment for CCR, DPV and trimix training, and for sidemount and DIR configurations, choosing solutions proven in practice, not only in theory.

Our work also rests on cooperation with dive centres and sites that let us train in real conditions, from controlled training environments to demanding exploration locations. That is where you build the competence that matters long after the course ends.

The choice of partners is not random. It comes from instructor experience, taking part in exploration projects and the real demands placed on technical divers. The solutions we use include training systems as well as equipment and infrastructure used in practice around the world.

Working with these partners reflects the Long Deco philosophy: safety, reliability and an informed approach, both to training and to the environment we dive in.

CONTACT

Reliability

We choose equipment and training systems proven in difficult conditions and in line with technical diving standards, where redundancy and predictability matter.

Consistency

We work with partners whose approach to training and equipment forms a coherent, consistent system for developing a diver, from the first course to instructor level.

Environment

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

At the start, a technical diver uses a twinset or sidemount configuration, a dive computer that supports trimix, and a gas redundancy system. As training progresses, stage cylinders, DPV scooters, CCR rebreathers and decompression equipment are added. The key is to build the configuration up gradually, to suit the diving environment and the level of the course.

A CCR is not required at every stage, but a rebreather greatly improves gas efficiency and lets you extend bottom time. On deep, cave and exploration dives, a CCR makes it possible to reduce decompression and gives more comfortable breathing. That is why many divers see it as a natural step in technical development.

A good technical computer should support trimix, CCR mode and advanced decompression algorithms. Readability, reliability and the ability to manage several gases are just as important. Computers of this class help with dive planning, profile analysis and learning to manage decompression consciously.

A twinset gives stability, simplicity and compatibility with the DIR configuration, which is why it is popular for wreck diving and trimix training. Sidemount gives more mobility and ergonomics in caves and in confined spaces. The choice depends on your diving style, the environment and your exploration plans.

DPV scooters extend your diving range, reduce gas consumption and let you explore caves and wrecks efficiently. In technical training the scooter is also a tool for learning teamwork, navigation planning and dealing with emergencies in an exploration environment.

During long decompression dives, staying thermally comfortable is vital for safety and concentration. A dry suit, often supported by a heating system, reduces physiological strain and helps keep your mind sharp on dives lasting many hours.

DIR is not a formal requirement, but standardised configuration, minimalism and redundancy greatly improve team communication and safety. Many technical configurations draw on the DIR philosophy, even if the diver does not directly identify with that approach.

The choice of equipment depends on the profile of the course, the diving environment and the planned gases. The instructor helps refine the configuration for ergonomics, hydrodynamics and redundancy. This way the equipment supports skill development instead of limiting the diver's comfort and safety.

Yes, as long as the equipment provides redundancy, is reliable and meets technical diving standards. During the course, changes are often made to the configuration to improve hydrodynamics and ergonomics. This is an important part of building a diver's equipment awareness.

We choose Long Deco partners on exploration experience, equipment reliability and how it performs in CCR, trimix and DPV training. This way students work with configurations used in real technical projects, which adds credibility and quality to the training.
