Course description
The PADI TEC 40 is an introductory course to technical diving, bridging the gap between advanced recreational diving and full technical diving. Theory
The theoretical portion of the PADI TEC 40 course covers key concepts essential for safe technical diving with limited decompression. Participants learn the basics of decompression dive planning, interpret dive profiles, and understand how time, depth, and breathing gases affect the diver’s body.
The course covers the physiology of technical diving, including the processes of tissue saturation and desaturation, and methods for minimizing the risk of decompression sickness. Gas management is an important element of the theoretical portion, including reserve planning, basic emergency strategies, and informed decision-making in unusual situations. The theoretical portion also introduces the principles of teamwork, underwater communication, and the responsibilities inherent in decompression dives.
Practice
Practical sessions are a key element of the PADI TEC 40 course and focus on gradually introducing divers to the realities of technical diving. They include workshops on equipment configuration, proper technical kit preparation, and basic gas and emergency procedures.
